Safe Keeping – a guide to managing the affairs of missing persons explains how families and friends of missing persons can manage the latter’s financial and legal affairs.
The guide was funded by the Victoria Law Foundation and produced with the assistance of stakeholders including Victoria Police, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), State Trustees and the Coroner’s Court.
Safe Keeping was produced in response to a legislative change that allows for friends and family of missing persons to apply to VCAT to manage their affairs. The legislative change was the result of a Submission Loddon Campaspe CLC made to the Victorian government in 2010.
