Law Week: 13-19 May 2019

Law Week is not far off – with over 140 events happening around the state.
ARC Justice programs (including the LCCLC) will be delivering four of these events, all of which are free to the public.

Tenancy Rights – Monday 13 May, Bendigo Library


If you’re renting, it can be hard to know where you stand. Come to this community education session to learn what rights you have as a tenant in Victoria and how you can access support. Presented by Housing Justice.

Topics covered will include:

  • Repairs (urgent and non-urgent)
  • Changes to the Residential Tenancies Act
  • Rent arrears

‘Steps to Speaking Up’ Launch – Wednesday 15 May, Maryborough Community Hub

Come together with fellow community members and service providers to celebrate the launch of ‘Steps to Speaking Up’. Developed by the Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability and the Family Network with support from Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre.

Family-friendly activities on the day include a Welcome to Country, free BBQ, face-painting for kids and information stalls.
