We recently received $40,000 from the WCF Thomas Charitable Trust that will allow us to continue delivering our Health-Justice Partnership with Bendigo Community Health Services in Kangaroo Flat for another year.
The partnership recognises that many legal conflicts manifest as health issues and that by working together, health and legal service providers stand a better chance of helping clients address their health, social and legal issues.
The partnership embeds a Lawyer at BCHS’ Kangaroo Flat site three days a week who provides legal advice and casework to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients.
The WCF Thomas Charitable Trust is managed by Equity Trustees. It supports people and children with disabilities, educational programs and young disadvantaged people. We are extremely grateful for their generous support.
Although this support provides a lifeline for the partnership, we will continue to evaluate our work and to provide the evidence for its value to ensure the long-term, sustainable funding.
