In 2005 Peter Noble became Loddon Campaspe CLC’s inaugural Principal Solicitor. At that time, Australia’s newest CLC comprised Pete, a part-time Administrator/Receptionist and a part-time Community Legal Education Worker.
Since that time, and in large part due to Pete’s vision, drive and leadership, the organisation has expanded exponentially. Loddon Campaspe CLC and Goulburn Valley CLC (which Loddon Campaspe CLC and UnitingCare: Cutting Edge launched as a pilot project in 2009) now employ almost 20 staff across the two programs and assist clients with almost 2000 matters each year. In 2013, Pete became the EO of ARC Justice, which also incorporates Housing Justice.
But all good things must come to an end. Pete recently announced his resignation as ARC Justice’s EO. He winds up at the end of this month. We count ourselves lucky to have had the good fortune to work under Pete’s guidance. And although we will be sad to see him go, we know that he has laid strong foundations for the service that will enable us to continue to serve our local community.
All of us at ARC Justice thank Peter for his amazing contribution and wish him well in his new post at Victoria Legal Aid. As VLA’s Executive Director – Services and Innovation, Pete will continue to advocate for improved access to justice for those of us living in regional, rural and remote Victoria.
