Talking Justice recently asked a distinguished line-up of speakers to address the place of the law and justice in a free society. More than 240 people bought tickets to this inaugural Bendigo event and some sessions were booked out.
If you couldn’t attend the event, don’t worry. We’ve uploaded video of the weekend’s presentations to our YouTube channel. Speakers included Graham Atkinson (native title and racial vilification), Father Frank Brennan (asylum seekers), Simon Breheny (freedom of speech), Nicholas Cowdery (pictured, drug law reform), Professor Arie Freiberg (sentencing and parole), Debbie Kilroy (the criminal justice system), Anne Manne (paid parental leave), Kate Auty (climate change) and Raimond Gaita (politics and policy). Professor Martin Krygier moderated all sessions.
