Thankyou and farewell Mr Gibb

Loddon Campaspe CLC wishes to acknowledge and thank Mr Bill Gibb who retired as Regional Coordinating Magistrate on the 7th of June.

Mr Gibb has been a vocal supporter our work since we opened in 2005. His support has enhanced our profile in the community and we’ve been able to draw on it in support of funding applications, for example in relation to the Family Violence duty lawyer service we now offer at Swan Hill Courts on a fortnightly basis.

We also acknowledge his willingness to take time out from his heavy workload to speak with Clinical Legal Education, graduate and volunteer students assisting with our service. Students often commented that these one-on-one moments helped them develop the confidence to appear as advocates before the Courts.

As Regional Coordinating Magistrate, his ongoing support and assistance in the development and expansion of our Family Violence Legal Assistance Service has been critical to its success. We are also grateful for Mr Gibb’s acknowledgement and appreciation of our service, which has often inspired our lawyers in what can be a thankless jurisdiction.
