In this free lunchtime forum, St Luke’s Anglicare Gambler’s Help Program Counsellor & Community Educator, David Tries, will discuss problem gambling.
As well as providing an overview of problem gambling in Australia, David will look at underlying causes of problem gambling and problem gambling’s relationship with other negative health and well-being issues.
David will answer the following frequently asked questions:
- How do I recognise if I have a problem?
- How do I recognise if someone else has a problem?
- Who is affected by problem gambling?
- How does one develop a gambling problem?
David will also outline available information and support services for people affected by problem gambling.

David is a provisionally registered psychologist with more than five years experience supporting individuals, couples and families affected by problem gambling. He has a passion for promoting self-awareness, personal growth and healthy relationships and has expertise in mindfulness practices. He is also a qualified yoga and meditation teacher.
