Seniors Rights Victoria, Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre, State Trustees, City of Greater Bendigo and Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres invite you to join in the free celebrations on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on the 15th of June 2012.
World Elder Abuse Awareness Day has been held annually on the 15th of June since 2006. WEAAD raises awareness of the abuse of older persons and highlights the need for appropriate action. It also recognises the continuing contribution seniors make to community life and promotes respect for seniors.
At 10.30am the Mayor of Bendigo, Cr Alec Sandner, will plant a magnolia tree in the Civic Gardens. This tree’s deep purple foliage will reflect WEAAD’s purple theme.
Free morning tea
Free morning tea will be served upstairs in the Bendigo Town Hall, Reception Room. Easy access to the room is via a lift.
